When Austin Theory Was Accused of Stealing Tyler Breeze's Gimmick

Austin Theory is one of the fastest-rising stars in modern WWE history.

He's already established himself as one of the biggest stars on Raw in his breakout year with the company.

Austin Theory is also the protégé of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon himself, and has tangled with some of the biggest Superstars in the world.

Even Brock Lesnar couldn't help himself but get in on the fun!

But one person who's been forgotten in this mix is Tyler Breeze; the man whose gimmick Theory allegedly ripped off.

WWE's former "Pretty Boy" is a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion alongside Fandango.

He had an instant classic with Jushin "Thunder" Liger at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2015.

And before Austin Theory was taking meme-worthy selfies every Monday, that was Tyler Breeze's thing.

Tyler Breeze would frequently carry a selfie stick to the ring. Fans have made the obvious connection and accused Austin Theory of "stealing" Tyler Breeze's shtick.

Theory himself has been rather professional about it, saying that his gimmick is totally different from Breeze's because the presentation is completely different from a "Pretty Boy" character; which we do agree with.

He's got enough time to discuss that when he becomes one of the youngest World Champions in WWE history; for now, he's focused on beating Pat McAfee at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
