Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal will lock horns inside the cage at UFC 272 inside T-Mobile Arena  in Las Vegas. In what promises to be  an exciting lead-up, let's take a look at what led to the downfall between Masvidal and Covington.

Former best friends turned arch-rivals, the rivalry is real, and no wonder the UFC promos are all inclined towards that storyline.



What soured the relationship between Covington and Masvidal?

The bitterness in the relationship between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington stems from the latter's  payment issues with Masvida's striking coach Paulino Hernandez.

According to Masvidal, Colby Covington owed $12500 to Paulino Hernandez for preparing him for his UFC fight.

Covington delayed the payment for quite some time, and later made excuses to Masvidal about it.

The BMF Champion says, ever since that day, Covington has been looking for a reason to get back at him.

Colby Covington has called "fake news" to Jorge Masvidal's claims and opined that this had nothing to do with his ouster from the American Top Team.
