Sharaputdin Magomedov, the new emerging player in the UFC is currently brushing up his skills as he will soon be associated with one of the most popular MMA promotions in the world, which is UFC.

Magomedov, like many other popular UFC fighters like Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov, is a Russian fighter hailing from Dagestan. But, unlike others, he is known for his characteristic eye.

The 28-year-old is also known as having one blue eye, not because of heterochromia but as a result of having a fake eye. The fighter reportedly underwent major eye surgery to save his vision.

Although the incident took place roughly two years ago, the fighter had never publicly spoken about it until recently, in his interview with Athletistic. He opened up about the surgery.

"Before the operation, I was mainly afraid of an injection in the eye. And there were such operations when an injection in the eye had to be made, where it was removed, one might say." said Magomedov.

"At this time, local anesthesia is administered, but you feel everything. They pierce it from two or three sides. It seems that a puncture is a camera, and the other two are something to pump."

But ultimately, he got back to training, not letting his limitations define him. "The doctor says: the worst thing that can happen to your eye has already happened. Therefore, you can practice."

Currently, Sharaputdin Magomedov is training for his upcoming promotional debut at UFC 292 that will take place at TD Garden in Boston, United States, on August 20, 2023.
