Lionel is undoubtedly one of the best football players this generation has ever witnessed and he was exceptional in the recent 2022 FIFA world cup.

Lionel Messi has propelled Barcelona to 10 La Liga trophies, 7 Copa del Rey titles, and 4 UEFA champions league trophies.

Messi has led his nation ARGENTINA to two international trophies that include a COPA AMERICA title and a World cup and these depict that he has a stellar career with a fairy tale ending.

However, Messi was in a whole lot of legal trouble as he along with his father was accused and later convicted of Tax Fraud.

Argentine No. 10 and his father were involved in a 4.1 million euros fraud that was suspected to relate with player image rights. The pair were also fined 2 million euros.

It could have been much worse for the Messi family as initially both were supposed to go to jail however later the sentence was reduced and Messi was made to a hefty fine.

Messi appealed against the sentence which was eventually turned down while his father was convicted to 15 months in jail which was reinstated to €180,000 fine.

Reacting to this whole incident a fan tweeted, "Lionel Messi lost an appeal against jail sentence for tax fraud but still, he WON'T serve it....one more "Bail on D'or" for him!".
