Venus Williams Dedicates Her Honor To The Yetunde Price Resource Center

Venus and Serena Williams both were raised in humble backgrounds.

With the help of their father Richard Williams, the Williams sisters trained very hard on the tennis courts in Compton.

Venus explains that right from her childhood she was surrounded by strong women, especially her mom who always gave her the confidence to do what she felt was right.

In 2003 Yetunde Price the elder sister of Venus was killed due to gun violence.

Venus dedicated her award to the Yetunde Price Resource center which was launched in honor of their late sister.

Venus said that they wanted to build a safe place in memory of their late sister where they would offer resources to those in need.

The Yetunde Price Resource Center looks after the emotional, mental, and financial conditions of the people of Compton.

All the facilities offered in the Yetunde Price Resource Center are free and of top quality.

She added saying, “Health and wellness isn’t a privilege that only some people deserve, it’s a human right.”

Venus has always fought against gender inequality and taught us that women should celebrate each other's success regardless of age and background.
