Kamaru Usman was a minute away from winning the fight against Leon Edwards when he got knocked out with a head kick in the fifth round.

This was the first knockout loss for the Nigerian Nightmare, who was unbeaten before his second fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 278.

Kamaru Usman is already looking for the trilogy fight against Leon Edwards in 2023. Both Dana White and Leon Edwards also like this idea.

The UFC legend even said Usman should let Leon Edwards fight another contender and then fight the winner of that fight.

"After taking a kick like that you might want to really take your time to come back. He does need time. He does need a CT scan. He caught the whole shin."- Cejudo stated in his podcast

Kamaru Usman was considered invincible and no one really thought that Leon Edwards will be able to knock him out. However, that was a career-threatening KO.

Even though Usman looks in good spirit after the devastating loss, the former champ must take his time to recover before he returns to avenge his loss.
