UFC 285 was a memorable night for everyone, with some incredible fights and unexpected outcomes. However, it wouldn't be a great memory for Geoff Neal.

The 7th-ranked welterweight entered the match as the underdog. Everyone anticipated that the undefeated rising prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov would have an easy night against Neal.

On the media day, Geoff Neal mentioned that he felt people were looking past him and stated clearly that he wouldn't be losing that easily. He predicted finishing Shavkat.

However, Geoff fought with passion and bravery till the end, matching Rakhmonov's blow for blow and even knocking out his mouthguard.

Sadly, in the final seconds of Round 3, despite all of his effort and grit, Neal was defeated by a standing rear-naked choke.

Although Geoff caused some damage, he was mostly at the receiving end of the blows that caused him to bleed from his head and nose. As per Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports, he was immediately transported to the hospital after the fight.

Geoff has shown immense grit and bravery in his performance. Although stunned by a head kick and some knees in the first round, he took Shavkat to his longest fight ever in the UFC, testing his chin frequently.

The seriousness of his injuries is yet to be known. We, along with Geoff’s fans, friends, and family, pray for his speedy recovery.
