The main event of UFC Vegas 77 was exactly what the viewers signed up for. Maria Bueno Silva graciously defeated her opponent the well-reputed Brazilian fighter Holly Holm via second-round submission.
Silva won over Holm by executing an astonishing standing Gluttline choke in response to Holm's attempted Ninja choke, earning her a title shot against former Bantamweight champion Juliana Pena.
While it was a clear shot for 'Sheetara' to glory and be listed as one of the best bantamweight fighters, things went downhill for Holm. Holm tapping out against Silva enraged people.
People across the world did not shy away from expressing their distaste for Holm and her bad performance. They were calling for Holm to retire as she does not perform as per the standards anymore.
Many Twitter users requested Holm to retire upfront. "Holm, please retire. U suck." and "Holly is washed man - got tapped on her feet. She hasn't nothing left."
While others had their own opinions about it like "I wanna say retire but that would be a really embarrassing way to retire." .."Holly needs to give it up altogether. she walked right into that tap!"
Some users were sad that Holm still got main events. Some said how Holly keeps getting main events, her strategy of hugging people against the fence and kneeing their thighs isn't entertaining.
Nonetheless, people did not fail to appreciate the choke by Silva, who they feel would be the next future champion, as she got a title shot. On the other hand, the fight was devastating for Holm.
