Figueiredo was scheduled to defend his gold against Moreno in a fourth fight, however, the Brazilian fighter decided to give the chance to Kai Kara-France instead, accusing Moreno pf passing racial slurs.

Unfortunately, even that didn't go down as Figueiredo revealed that he is nursing a hand injury and will be out till December this year.

Taking that into account, UFC decided to book Brandon Moreno vs Kai Kara-France for the interim flyweight gold.

“I am very disappointed. I confess to you that I seriously think about leaving the category. Who saved this division was me, Henry Cejudo, and with this one from the UFC, I’m honestly about to make decisions." Figueiredo said.

"I hope I don’t take them, but if I do, I’ll leave the division and go up to [135 pounds]." He further added.

Do you think an flyweight title fight

UFC has definitely increased the number of interim title fights in the recent past and it makes sense considering Moreno vs Figueiredo 3 was a close fight and Kai Kara-France has earned his spot at the flyweight gold.
