But the Nigerian-New Zealander star has tasted defeat against three fighters at the highest level, including once in the UFC.
Adesanya faced defeat last year when he challenged then-light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz on his quest to become a two-division champion.
Back in his professional kickboxing days, Adesanya lost to his upcoming UFC opponent Alex Pereira twice, once in 2016 and again in the next year. Adesanya and Perearia were part of Glory of Heroes.
Adesanya still claims that he should've been announced as the winner of their first fight and was the victim of poor judging.
In their second encounter, after close two rounds, Pereira knocked down Adesanya in the third and he fell unconscious on the floor.
In 2017, before facing Pereira, The Last Stylebender lost the Glory middleweight champion bout to Dutch kickboxer Jason Wilnis.
