Ferguson suffered the first KO loss of his career, and his second stoppage loss; all which have come in his last four fights.

The loss marked Justin Gaethje's second failed attempt at the undisputed gold. Both times, he has lost via submission.  The last time Gaethje lost via submission was back at UFC 254 against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
