UFC veteran, Renato Moicano submitted Alexander Hernandez with a rear naked choke in the second round and earned a fight purse of $115,000. On the other hand, Hernandez secured a fight purse of $56,000 for his fight on the UFC 271's main card.

Jared Cannonier made a huge comeback after losing the first round against Derek Brunson. The Killa Gorilla was able to finish the fight in the second round by TKO and earned a fight purse of$221,000(including the $50,000 performance of the night bonus). Reportedly, Derek Brunson earned a $161,000 fight purse. 

In an exciting heavyweight co-main event, Tai Tuivasa knocked out Derrick Lewis in brutal fashion. It was a tough loss for Derrick Lewis, who failed to please his fans in Houston for the second time in a row. However, he made sure to put on an exciting fight for the MMA fans.

Tai Tuivasa earned a fight purse of $241,000 (including $50,000 performance of the night bonus) while Derrick Lewis got a fight purse of $186,000.

In a much anticipated middleweight title fight, Israel Adesanya beat Robert Whittaker by unanimous decision. Following the fight, many fans criticised the judging and claimed that Whittaker did enough to win the fight at UFC 271 

Easily the biggest star in UFC after Conor McGregor, Israel Adesanya reportedly earned $1,400,000 for his title defence. The former champion Robert Whittaker earned $800,000 for his brilliant performance.
