The Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo GOAT debate is a fascinating and never-ending debate in the soccer world. Recently, the British professional boxer Tyson Fury gave his verdict on this debate.

Ahead of the "Battle of the Baddest" professional boxing match against Francis Ngannou at Riyadh, Fury met Portuguese soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who leads the Riyadh-based Al-Nassr.

Fury was born in Manchester, and he is a fan of Manchester United, the same English Premier League club where Ronaldo played from 2003 to 2009 and later from 2021 to 2022.

Fury has attended several Man United home matches at Old Trafford. So, unsurprisingly, the boxer chose Ronaldo as his favorite soccer player ever.

Fury told Ronaldo, "Cristiano, you're the greatest footballer that's ever lived and I mean that." In reply, Ronaldo said with a smile, "Thank you very much."

Fury called himself a big fan of Ronaldo. He not only watched Ronaldo's regular matches at Man United but also during his successful tenure at the Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid.

When Ronaldo asked Fury why he doesn't frequently attend United matches anymore, the boxer replied, "I come to the stadium, but I get very much tortured when I go there...It's very difficult for me."

Both Messi and Ronaldo are currently in strong form, but the 38-year-old Ronaldo is the leading goalscorer in 2023.
