Triple H was not happy with the WWE when they decided to release WWE veteran and former NXT General Manager William Regal earlier this year.

Regal was released by the company on January 5th 2022 while Vince McMahon was in charge. The decision didn't sit well with fans at all.

The veteran star then signed with WWE's rival promotion AEW where he debuted at the Revolution Pay-per-view in March during a match between Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.

Regal then created one of the most popular wrestling factions of AEW when he formed The Blackpool Combat Club with Moxley, Danielson, Claudio and Yuta as the members.

He recently turned heel during the AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and MJF by helping Maxwell win the championship.

Regal was then written off AEW TV after MJF attacked him on last week's AEW Dynamite in a surprising turn of events.

Fightful select is now reporting that William Regal is done with AEW and is set to make his return to the WWE to work with Triple H.

It'll be interesting to see what role will Regal play in the WWE under Triple H's leadership. He's expected to return next year.
