Before Terry Bolea became Hulk Hogan, he wrestled as Terry Boulder  across the territories.

While he was with CWA, he appeared alongside Lou Ferrigno who played The Incredible Hulk at the time, after which he was called Terry "The Hulk" Boulder.

When he beat the Iron Sheik to become the WWF Champion, he was introduced as "The Incredible" Hulk Hogan, which sparked a negotiation between WWF & Marvel.

Marvel even had his image licensed, which was printed across all Hulk Hogan merchandise; though they made negligible profit off the sales.
