Martina Navratilova has given an update after learning that she has two different cancers. The tennis legend disclosed last month that in addition to receiving a second breast cancer diagnosis in her life, she also has throat cancer.

Navratilova disclosed her cancer diagnosis this month, 13 years after being given the all-clear from breast cancer as a consequence of radiation therapy. A enlarged lymph node in her neck was found by the 66-year-old woman in November.

Martina saw that her neck lymph node was expanding throughout the WTA finals in Fort Worth.

When it didn't go away, a biopsy was conducted, and the results revealed that it was stage 1 throat cancer.

“This double whammy is serious but still fixable. I'm hoping for a favourable outcome. It's going to stink for a while but I'll fight with all I have got,” she said, later adding: “Needless to say my phone and Twitter are both blowing up so I will say again - thank you all for your support and I am not done yet.”

Soon after starting her treatment last month, Navratilova received a note from a worried fan. She has since given a brief update. How are you, Martina? Just remember, nothing can beat YOU, a fan reminded the retiring former world No. 1 on Tuesday. I'm staying with it, thanks:)," she retorted.

Navratilova was unable to attend the Australian Open last month because of her role as a commentator, but a statement from her agent claimed that the prognosis was "excellent."

It has been determined that Martina Navratilova has stage one throat cancer. The prognosis for Martina is good, and she will start therapy this month. The malignancy is of the HPV variety, and it reacts well to the treatment.
