Veteran tennis player Billie Jean King is an expert. The tennis veteran recently discussed why the earnings of female players should not be viewed as a luxury when compared to those of male players.

In addition, she used 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, as an example. And how, despite all the wealth she accumulated for herself, she managed to find a way to give back to society.

The former world number one discussed how there is no issue with a female tennis player spending money on whatever she desires. She had wanted to do this since she was a tennis player.

However, while highlighting the same financial issue, the 12-time Grand Slam winner looked up to Serena Williams and how she managed to overcome the issue.

Jean said, “I’ll give you an idea. You know that what we did, you know we had hardly anything but Serena Williams made almost 100 million on the court hundreds of millions off the court? But she has an investment company."

"Serene Investments, that she’s going to give back and try to help women and particularly women of color. So, I think it’s great because if she didn’t have that money like our generation,” Jean explained.

Billie also talked about how they would be able to use their money to help others in a similar way to how the younger generation does, and she has spoken about how Serena was great for achieving her objective.

Circled Dot

Billie Jean King actively resisted the criticism in order for the next generation to easily pursue their aspirations of becoming tennis stars. She spoke about the recently retired Williams, describing how she is living the dream of many tennis players just like her.
