NBA has come up with 6 new incredible trophies with various interesting details for the regular season individual awards.

While taking a look at these spectacular NBA trophies, you will discover that every minute details reflect some facts about the respective players whose names are associated with the trophies.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the league will be awarded the Michael Jordan trophy. Since Jordan has won 5 MVP awards in his successful career, so the league named the most prestigious honour after him.

The best defensive player of the season will be awarded the Hakeem Olajuwon trophy. Hakeem, the Houston Rockets legend won the best defensive award twice in his career.

The Wilt Chamberlain trophy or the Rookie of the year award is another glorious award launched by NBA. Wilt Chamberlain made 37.6 points and 27 rebounds in his first season in the league, deserving a special place in NBA history.

The Sixth Man of the Year award is named after The Boston Celtics legend John Havlicek. However, he had never won this award in his career. John retired in 1978.

The Most Improved Player award will be named after the LA Lakers legend George Mikan who had never won this award. George was a fantastic player and is considered the first NBA star of all time. He made 23.1 points and 13.4 rebounds in his 7-year career.

The best clutch player of the season will receive the Jerry West trophy. This trophy is named after the LA Lakers guard Jerry West who had spent 14 years with the Lakers and finally won a championship in 1972.
