Superstitions and Pre-game Rituals of Lakers Legend LeBron James

It's quite interesting to know that NBA players perform certain pre-game rituals that may be superstitious but hold some importance to the player performing them.

One such player is Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. The 4-time NBA champion and icon is known for his pre-game rituals, which may have helped him achieve the success he gained in his career.

His famous chalk clap, inspired by Michael Jordan, started capturing attention by rubbing the chalk powder in his hands and tossing it up in the air at the courtside scorers table.

LeBron's next ritual is the “I Promise” silicon wristband, which he always wears as a symbol of his dedication to the I Promise Charity, founded by him in 2018.

Starting with this ritual after his trade to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, James makes some handwritten notes, including codes and acronyms, on his fresh pair of Nike sneakers before the game.

Adding another to his pre-game ritual list are the choreographed handshakes performed by him with all of his fellow teammates in a distinct, unique, and organized manner.

Music has been one of James' pre-game rituals, from listening to DMX to hip-hop to old-school jazz and classical music, including artists like Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and The Notorious B.I.G.

James' iconic headbands have also been one of the major attractions. The look is one of his signature ones, with a Nike logo on it and available in different colors.
