The father of NBA star Stephen Curry, 59-year-old Dell Curry, a former NBA player with a 16-season career as part of five franchises, has come out with a speculative reveal on his personal life.
During a recent interview with The Charlotte Observer, Dell revealed some details about his second marriage while discussing his personal and professional career of 16 seasons.
While answering the questions about his current relationship during the interview, Dell goes on to elaborate about his second marriage to Nicki Smith after his divorce from ex-wife Sonya Curry.
"Yes. It’s great. I didn’t know what I was gonna do after the divorce. I thought about going to the West Coast. I’m like, Nah, I’m not gonna follow my sons. I’m going to stick it out. Hang here."
"I wasn’t going to get married again. But life is great right now. I’m at a great place in my life. My home situation is sound. My kids and their families are doing great. They’re happy for me."
As per sources, Dell's linkup happened through a mutual friend, followed by a couple of meetups. Initially started connecting over the phone for a month, the two eventually got married last year.
Rumors also suggested linkups between Dell's wife Nicki and his best friend Steven Johnson, who was at the time dating Sonya, with the news of their probable marriage based on a leaked picture.
Parents of two established NBA stars, Stephen and Seth, and college volleyball player Sydel Curry, Dell and Sonya's divorce ended in sexual misconduct against Sonya and an alleged affair with Dell.
Ending a 33-year-old marriage on August 23, 2021, Dell and Sonya Curry's relationship dates back to their college days at Virginia Tech as student athletes, followed by their marriage in 1988.
