WWE superstars Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were part of the "Fire and Desire" tag team during their initial run in the company.

The duo had an interesting pitch to the WWE creative team as they wanted to do a lesbian love angle but the idea was rejected.

Sonya Deville is the first female professional wrestler in the WWE to come out as gay and she wanted to bring the story of her life on to WWE TV.

The reason why the idea was rejected is unclear but it was a great opportunity for the company to take a step that many professional wrestling companies haven't taken.

Sonya and Mandy were then separated and the two had a feud during early 2020 involving Otis and Dolph Ziggler in the story.

Mandy Rose then moved to NXT and she's the current NXT women's champion and has held the championship for over 400 days. She is also the leader of the popular Toxic Attraction group.

Sonya Deville meanwhile is competing on the Smackdown brand and was recently involved in a feud with Liv Morgan.
