The 36-year-old Argentine World Cup-winning legend Lionel Messi is enjoying his first United States' Major League Soccer season for Inter Miami.

After dominating the European club soccer majorly for the Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona and lately for the French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, Messi recently started his journey in the US.

Last July, Messi officially signed for Inter Miami. His present contract with the MLS club will run until the end of 2025.

According to El Nacional, Messi already decided to end his professional soccer career with the Argentine club Newell's Old Boys. This club is based in Rosario, Messi's birth town.

Messi is known for being a lifelong supporter of Newell's Old Boys. At the age of six, he joined the club. He was a key member of Argentina's most famous under-age team, "The Machine of '87."

The seven-a-side "The Machine of '87" or "La Maquina del '87" were invincible as they were reportedly unbeaten for three years. The domination continued in the 11-a-side format at age 11.

While Messi scored four out of six goals in his first Newell's game, he joined Barcelona at the age of 13 years after scoring at least 500 goals for Newell's.

Newell's Old Boys currently participate in the Argentine first-division league Primera División. The club last time won the Primera División in the 2012/13 season (2013 Final Tournament).
