The LA Lakers' legend LeBron James finally broke the scoring record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, which is 38,387 points, on Tuesday night. He scored 36 points for the Los Angeles Lakers while they played against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

LeBron James stood with a microphone at the center of the court on Thursday, under the spotlight, with fans cheering him all the way.

Two days after his achievement, he was still excited about becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. During the pregame ceremony, he was able to share his excitement with the spectators who came to see him.

While the three scoreboard ribbons that were placed surrounding the Lakers’ downtown arena, displayed the message: "LeBron James — NBA All-Time Leading Scorer.", James paused for a moment to collect his thoughts.

LeBron James said: “As I sit up here and look at this thing going around right now, it’s just so surreal to me.”

James continued: “But the one thing I know for sure is that I’ve never cheated the game of basketball. And I would never cheat the game of basketball, because it’s given so much to myself. It’s given so much to my family.”

James said of his wife Savannah: “She’s the real MVP. She’s actually the All-Time leading scorer,” after his achievement. He gave the credit for his accomplishment to his wife.

After LeBron’s achievement, Abdul Jabbar said: “The game has had eras, and LeBron, without a doubt, is the greatest player of his era, and that era is right behind that of Shaquille (O’Neal), Michael Jordan.”
