Shaquille O'Neal Won't Share His $450 Million Fortune With His Kids

The NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, who is known as one of the most dominant players in NBA history, is also a father of six children. His sons are Shareef, Shaqir, and Myles, and his daughters are Amirah, Me'arah, and Taahirah.

Shaquille O'Neal has made a lot of money from his NBA career, endorsement deals, and numerous business ventures, but he has a strict rule of inheritance for his children.

Prior to his retirement in 2011, Shaq earned a substantial amount of money playing for NBA teams such as the Miami Heat, LA Lakers, and Orlando Magic. Apart from these, he has also acted and released his own music.

He explained his rule in The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying, “To touch any of my cheese, you need to present me two degrees”. He said that he is not ready to give his money to his 6 children so easily.

Shaq wants his kid to have at least a bachelor's and a master's degree to get the money that he has earned. He wants them to become independent.

He is adamant about his decision that his children will work hard for their money rather than receive it freely. So, he tries to keep his children motivated so that they can earn their own living.

However, O'Neal does not put pressure on his kids regarding their choice of profession. He tells his children that it is not mandatory to become an NBA player, but if any of his kids are interested, he could teach them.

Shareef, who is Shaquille's oldest son, is an NBA player who played with the Lakers in the NBA 2022 Summer League. However, he is undrafted at present but might make a big splash very soon.
