Shane was one of the final 3 superstars in the match until he was eliminated by Brock Lesnar, who eventually won the match

Shane reportedly wanted to have the entire match highlight him.

It was reported by Ringside News that Shane even pitched the idea of him entering at no.1 and lasting till the very end.

This was going to be the build to his road to WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer reported that Shane was initially in the plans to compete at Elimination Chamber.

Shane wanted to challenge for the WWE Title at WrestleMania.

Shane would have been in the Chamber match for the WWE Title.

Shane McMahon’s attitude was not well received backstage and that resulted in him getting let go.

Since Shane was let go, Austin Theory took his spot in the Chamber Match.
