Serena Williams Teams up With 54-Year-Old Hollywood Star at Super Bowl

Serena Williams was excited to collaborate with Brian Cox on the 2023 Michelob Ultra Super Bowl commercial because she is a big fan of the television series Succession.

Working with the Golden Globe winner, who portrays Logan Roy, made her feel "sort of special" because he was in all of her scenes, she says.

The "Succession" actor joins the 23-time Grand Slam winner on the golf course that is modelled after Caddyshack in the third year of the beer brand's advertising campaign.

The whole advertisement opens with a picture of a golf course and the name of the imaginary country club from Harold Ramis' comic movie, "Bushood Country Club," written on a sign.

Williams approaches Cox, who is dressed in ordinary khakis and a pink polo shirt, and he says to her, "Well, we're waiting."

The camera pans to other golfers on the course, including Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler and WNBA star Nneka Ogwumike, as the two take turns at the tee.

Before turning up the music and playing "I'm Alright," the title track from Caddyshack, this pair observes Cox and Williams. They go on to fill a golf bag with beer from a Michelob Ultra tap and dance with other golfers to the music.

Serena discusses how the equal depiction of male and female athletes in this year's golf-themed Super Bowl advertisement is "a real big deal for the Super Bowl and their commercial."
