Serena Williams Shares Her Honest Thoughts on Will Smith

Hollywood icon Will Smith, should be pardoned, according to tennis superstar Serena Williams, for his "error" of slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars last year.

The "King Richard" actor hit comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith at the Academy Awards last year, and the 41-year-old tennis legend has spoken about the infamous incident.

Serena is adamant that the actor should be given the opportunity to make amends for his "mistake."

Serena laments how the slap overshadowed Will's Oscar victory and that of "Summer of Soul," which won the Best Documentary Feature award shortly after the terrible occurrence

"I thought it was such an amazing movie, and I feel like there was another amazing movie with Questlove that sort of got lost in the shadows." Serena said.

She further says, "But I also feel that I've been in a position where I've been under a lot of pressure and made a tremendous amount of mistakes, and I'm the kind of person that's just like, 'I've been there. I've made a mistake. It's not the end of the world.'"

Smith received a ten-year Oscars suspension for the slap, but the 23-time Grand Slam champion feels that he deserves another chance to prove himself.

We're all flawed and human, so let's just be kind to each other, added Serena, who said last year that she was "growing away" from tennis. That's why it's frequently overlooked."
