Ryan Garcia is considered one of the best boxers in the game, with an impressive record of 21 wins, 1 loss, and 18 knockouts.

However, despite his success, Garcia revealed that he was suffering from depression and anxiety, and he even had suicidal thoughts at one point.

During an interview with Dan Canobbio on Inside Boxing Live, Garcia revealed that he had contemplated suicide during a particularly dark period of his life.

"When I was deep in it, I didn't think I was going to live; I was so depressed, and I went to bad habits." Garcia said.

He continued, "I started drinking, and I never drink, ever. But I was getting drunk all the time. I wanted to kill myself at one point."

After his victory over Luke Campbell in January 2021, Garcia's mental health took a turn for the worse, and he ultimately withdrew from a scheduled fight against Javier Fortuna in July of that year.

Garcia recently made headlines after suffering his first career loss against Gervonta Davis, which could further deteriorate his mental health.

Garcia's decision to speak out about his struggles with depression and anxiety is a reminder of the importance of mental health care in the sports world.
