As UFC Fight Night scheduled in Paris witnessed a couple of heated clashes, including Ciryl Gane coming back into the winning column, the co-main event also witnessed the return of a former champion.

The co-main event between Manon Fiorot and the 'Thug', Rose Namajunas, who was returning after her loss against Carla Esparza a year ago, saw a gruesome injury in the very first round.

As the initial bout commenced, UFC commentators John Gooden and Paul Felder noticed one of Rose Namajunas' hands was injured. After the first round, Rose confirmed that her finger had broken.

Despite a broken finger, Namajunas displayed a great amount of will to go back into the fight and keep it tough for Fiorot. However, Namajunas lost the fight via unanimous decision.

After the fight ended, Brian Butler-Au of SuckerPunch Entertainment confirmed on Instagram by posting a story that his client, Namajunas, had indeed broken her right hand.

Although Rose Namajunas was returning to the octagon after "one of the boring fights ever" against Carla Esparza, her venture into the flyweight division did not pay off well as she lost to Fiorot.

Rose later mentioned that she might not be returning to strawweight. “Now I’m kind of just naturally walking around at 135, or waking up at 135. To go all the way down to 115 would be tough.”

Fiorot, who thinks Rose should consider a new weight class, stated, “I don’t know what she’s going to do after, if she’s going to stay there or go back, but I don’t think it’s her weight class."
