Doping scandals are quite common in sports. The sudden boost in the performance of athletes is credited to the drugs they take before and after their matches.

We have witnessed many top-tier athletes destroy their promising careers after getting caught in the doping trap. Hence, to save careers and maintain the game's fairness, the doping test becomes a necessity.

Sometimes, these doping tests become annoying when an athlete is frequently subjected to them during his or her dynamic schedule. One of these athletes is the now-retired tennis legend Roger Federer.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner once shared that he was frequently tested during his prime. "I think I’ve had seven tests. It’s been quite heavy. Also blood and urine. Two in Stuttgart and Halle." said Roger.

Federer also stated that he could theoretically be tested twice a day as the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Swiss National have separate drug testing programs.

The former No. 1 tennis player also expressed his opinion about testing. "I don’t believe there’s ever going to be enough testing. What’s important is that these people are professionals, know what they’re doing, and treat you like humans, not criminals. Then it’s OK." Roger said.

Roger also shared the fact that he used to get tested more frequently at home than when he was in Dubai.

"In the village, I live in, in Switzerland, the tester lives in the same village, so it’s very convenient. If he’s bored at home, he probably just says, ‘Let me check in on Roger to see if he’s having a good time." Federer hilariously stated.
