The FIFA World Cup is one of the most cherished and celebrated tournaments in the sports domain. The enthralling contest between underdogs and elites makes the campaign interesting.

However, another sport has just breached the FIFA world cup's popularity, as a report suggests that NFL viewership has surpassed the 2018 and 2022 FIFA world cup finals despite incredible progress in the latter one.

Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs locked horns on the 12th Feb in which Kansas city came out victorious by (38:35) goals.

During the contest, a hefty population across the platforms tuned in that leading to an incredible record as a media outlet tweeted,"NFL says Super Bowl was watched by 113 million viewers".

The record will mean even more to the NFL owners as it marks a resurgence of the sport in the country after a dull patch in viewership during the pandemic.

The credit must also go to Rihanna, as her performance during halftime led to an incredible surge in viewership, drawing another 5 million spectators that propelled the average observer mark up to 118 million.

If one had to compare soccer and the NFL's influence on America, the latter would have the upper hand as the 2018 FIFA final got 11,441,000 views, while the Super Bowl got 103.5 million spectators in the same year.

On the other hand, people should also note that the popularity of soccer is also increasing briskly in the USA, as sources state the 2022 FIFA final was watched by approximately 25 million US citizens.
