The 30-year-old French World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba is in deep trouble. The Juventus star can face a career-threatening lengthy ban for a doping scandal.

After the away Serie A game against Udinese on August 20, Juventus' unused benched player Pogba was selected for the dope test.

On September 11, Pogba was provisionally suspended from playing by the Italian national anti-doping tribunal (Nado) due to failing the dope test.

Pogba's B sample result also had a positive result. The test found elevated levels of testosterone in his system. Testosterone is a hormone that helps athletes to raise endurance.

As the counter-analysis had a positive result, Pogba is in danger of receiving a massive suspension. According to media reports, the French midfielder can be banned between two and four years.

Meanwhile, Juventus can also terminate Pogba's contract. The Frenchman returned to the Italian club in the 2022 summer by signing a four-year contract that will end in June 2026.

Before the B sample result, Pogba's agent, Rafaela Pimenta, stated, "We are waiting for the counter-analysis and until then we can't say anything."

The statement also added, "The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules."
