Dwayne Johnson on Wednesday broke his silence and gave an update regarding the future of Black Adam film in the DCEU under James Gunn's leadership.

Johnson's Black Adam was a major disappointment at the box office as the film only grossed $390 million and the studio reportedly lost around $100 million for the project.

The former WWE champion took to Twitter on Wednesday and confirmed that Black Adam won't be part of DCEU's first chapter of storytelling.

The actor also said that his production company Seven Bucks and DC will explore ways to bring the superhero back in the future for DC's Multiverse chapters.

DC fans were really upset to hear the news as many people were expecting Dwayne Johnson to revive the DC Universe after its below-average films in the last decade.

Former WWE Superstar and The Rock's rival Shane Helms also reacted to the news on Twitter and said that he enjoyed the Black Adam movie.

Shane Hurricane Helms and The Rock had a mini rivalry in the WWE during the early 2000s where the superhero was able to get the victory over the Brahma Bull.

After the Black Adam announcement, fans are hoping that The Rock will make his return to the WWE at WrestleMania next year. He's rumored to face his cousin Roman Reigns at the grand event.
