Novak Djokovic Accused of Faking Leg Injury at Australian Open 2023

Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic is undoubtedly one of the greats of the sport. He has been world No. 1 for a record 373 weeks and has finished the year as No. 1 seven times. 

He has 21 Grand Slam men's singles championships to his name, including a record nine Australian Opens.

The Serbian's left leg has been a significant discussion topic at Melbourne Park since he came with the ailment and subsequently required medical timeouts in his second and third-round matches.

Nonetheless, he won both and then dispatched Alex De Minaur in the fourth round on Monday, losing only five games.

But after all these wins his injury has been questioned by many and he is been accused by many fans.

In statements obtained by tennismajors.com from Serbian media, Djokovic responded to those who questioned if he was truly injured, saying: "I leave the doubting to those people - let them doubt.

"I am not really interested at this point what people are thinking and saying. It is fun, it is interesting to see how the narrative surrounding me continues" Djokovic said.

"But I am used to it and it just gives me extra strength and motivation. So I thank them for that." He concluded.
