According to the latest report from CNBC, AEW owner Tony Khan and his father Shahid Khan are interested in a possible WWE-AEW merger.

The report says that the Khans are not planning to buy the WWE outrightly but are interested in partnering with a media company to share the company's intellectual properties.

Shahid Khan has a net worth of $7.56 billion according to Bloomberg. He is also the owner of the NFL side Jacksonville Jaguars and the English Soccer team Fulham FC.

There were reports that Vince McMahon had sold the WWE to Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund but it was later revealed that the news wasn't true.

The CNBC report also suggests that Vince McMahon selling his company to the owners of his main competition is a "long shot" and is very unlikely to happen.

The CNBC report notes that the Khans are open to Vince McMahon staying and continuing in his role if the sale goes through. Currently, there are no talks between the two parties for a merger.

Circled Dot

If Vince McMahon agrees to a merger between the two rival promotions then it could turn out to be a monumental deal in the world of professional wrestling but as of now, it looks unlikely.

The billion-dollar company will be sold soon once McMahon finds a good deal. WWE fans and talents are eagerly waiting to see what happens with the WWE moving forward.
