The 31-year-old NBA player Tristan Thompson is mourning the loss of his mother Andrea Thompson who passed away on 5th January 2023.
Tristan Thompson was born to loving parents Trevor Thompson and Andrea Thompson at Brampton in Ontario. Trevor was a truck driver while Andrea was a former school bus driver.
As per the sources, Andrea Thompson, the mother of the beloved Cleveland Caveliers passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest. She died at her home in Toronto on Thursday.
Thompson flew to Toronto from Los Angeles to be with his family at the time of crisis. Khloe Kardashian his ex-wife has also accompanied him to console him and she was there with the family.
Tristan was very much close to his mother, once he shared a rare photo of her holding his daughter True Thompson in an August 2019 Instagram post captioned "GiGi and baby True."
In a 2018 Instagram post, Thompson shared a photo of him with his mother, wishing her 'Happy Birthday' and thanking her for all her efforts that she made for him and their family.
Andrea had always been a great support for Tristan. She recognised the talent in her son when he was 10 and drove him to games throughout Canada, so that he could pursue his NBA career.
After Tristan was drafted by the Cavs in 2011, Andrea wrote in an open letter to Toronto star: “That was my son, Tristan Thompson, putting on the cap of the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team Thursday night, shaking the hand of commissioner David Stern, doing just what he told me he would when he was just 10 years old."
