NBA superstar LeBron James has been the target of serious allegations from Chael Sonnen. Later, Sonnen claimed that the substance in issue is Erythropoietin (EPO), one of the many for which he tested positive and received a suspension during his MMA career.

LeBron James was accused of using performance-enhancing drugs by the former UFC championship contender and analyst and MMA mouthpiece, who even claimed they both had shared the same drug.

Sonnen said on Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast: “If the world understood what LeBron did... like other basketball players will hear what LeBron does and go, ‘but that doesn’t matter.’ It’s like a baseball player, and you’re hitting the stick — it doesn’t matter.”

He continued: “If you knew what these performance-enhancers did, then you would know why it does matter. We have the same drug guy, I know exactly what he’s doing….”

Sonnen also said that EPO is crucial and important so because of this James uses it. EPO gives more endurance to athletes to play the entire game as it is a supreme energy booster that helps to expand red blood cells.

It's important to note that such claims from Sonnen should be viewed cautiously because he has a reputation for always speaking whenever he promotes stories.

In the same interview, he also stated that in his 2012 rematch with Anderson Silva, he earned more than $8 million.

However, John S. Nash, a business specialist, made the observation on social media that the amount Sorren received in 2012 isn't even close to the purses he got, given UFC’s payment to the court and to the lenders.
