After Brittney Griner's release from prison on 8th December Russia and the US have come to terms. Brittney has been exchanged for Viktor Bout, the Russian arms dealer and he is sentenced to prison.
Brittney after spending almost 10 months in prison has finally stepped into her own country while Viktor Bout is behind the bars now due to his involvement in dealing arms with rogue government agents and warlords.
It was due to Joe Biden's swap to Russia that Brittney was released who was arrested for carrying weed vape cartridges at the Russian airport.
Bout was convicted back on Nov 2011 when the jury caught his master plan to kill US officials and citizens. He helped a terrorist organization and delivered some anti-aircraft missiles.
Bout continued trading weapons until he was caught red-handed in a sting operation back in 2008. The former British Office Minister called him the 'Merchant of Death.
Bout was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment in the US till Brittney Griner was sent to the prisoner exchange.
Viktor is a Ukrainian by birth who later became a Russian citizen after the USSR dissolution in 1991.
As per reports, Victor is a former air force pilot of the Soviets. There are controversies about whether he retired as lieutenant general or he was a major.
