Liverpool's Colombian winger Luis Diaz's parents were kidnapped. While his mother had been rescued later, there are two different reports on his missing father.

Diaz's parents were reportedly kidnapped at a service station in the La Guajira area in Colombia after armed motor bikers stopped them and drove them away in the vehicle.

On October 28, Colombian President Gustavo Petro revealed the successful rescue mission of Diaz's mother, Cilenis Marulanda. However, Diaz's father, Luis Manuel Diaz, was still missing.

However, according to the latest The Herald update, Luis Manuel Diaz was later saved by the police in an intense rescue operation, where two out of four kidnappers were killed.

However, journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed on social media that there was no update on Diaz's missing father and a monetary reward has been announced for any information.

Romano wrote, "Colombian police just announced that they are prepared to give 200M pesos as reward to any person who’ll give crucial informations in order to help to rescue Luis Díaz father."

Liverpool stated, "It is our fervent hope that the matter is resolved safely and at the earliest possible opportunity....the player's welfare will continue to be our immediate priority."

Diaz is really upset about this incident and praying for his father's return as early as possible. In this situation, the winger wasn't included in the squad for Sunday's Premier League match.
