The 2022 FIFA World Cup was one of the most riveting tournaments of all time. This edition was filled with loads of drama and entertainment.

The 2022 World Cup final was a perfect example of how the competition worked, as the game was extended to a penalty shoot-out thanks to a spectacular Mbappe hat trick.

However, it was not enough for France, as Argentina's Messi-led team was cool enough to win their third World Cup as soon as the game ended.

The internet went buzzing as soon as the final whistle blew and the fans were in happy tears for Messi as he fulfilled his everlasting dream of clinching the goldware.

Meanwhile, Messi's admirers have already started to ponder whether or not their idol will feature in the next World Cup.

The Argentinian superstar shed some light on the matter, and during a conversation with a media outlet, he said," "Because of age, it'll be difficult to make 2026 (World Cup)."

Messi further stated, "I love playing football and while I feel like I'm in good shape and enjoying this, I'm going to keep at it. It seems like a long time until the next World Cup, but it depends on how my career is going."

While this may upset a few fans, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni is pretty confident that his talisman will feature in the 2026 World Cup.
