Argentine FIFA World Cup-winning legend Lionel Messi has now missed the last three Inter Miami matches. He recently missed the home game against New York City last Saturday (30-08-23).

There is no clear official club report on Messi's recent absence. While the media has been reporting his leg injury, the club's head coach has opened up Messi's status after the New York City game.

There is a question about Messi's presence in the next away MLS game against Chicago Fire FC, head coach Gerardo Martino clarified that they are evaluating his condition game by game.

Martino said, "We're going to see this game to game. We're going to evaluate him [ahead of Wednesday’s match] against Chicago."

Since his return from international duty, Messi has missed four out of five matches, including his absence during the US Open Cup Final against Houston Dynamo (by 2-1).

Messi's only Miami appearance after his latest Argentina duty lasted for only 37 minutes before his substitution. Later, the coach claimed that he was taken off in concern of his old injury problem.

Talking about Messi's present fitness status, Martino further added after their latest game, "He’s (Messi) training on the field apart from the group, but he's feeling better and better."

Although Inter Miami had a very poor start and Messi's presence has brought some final hope for their MLS playoffs qualification, the club isn't rushing to the captain even in the serious period.
