Lionel Messi is regarded as the genius of Soccer. The way he eases through the defenders is pleasing to watch.
Lionel Messi's best run was unarguably at the Spanish Giant, Barcelona. The Argentine elite has scored 650+ goals for Barcelona and has won 35 trophies with the club.
However, due to financial constraints at the club, Barcelona had to set Messi free in 2021 and it was a tough one to take for the southpaw.
Some reports also stated that Messi was not given the respect he deserved at Barcelona and his departure caused a rift in his relationship with Laporta.
Messi then joined hands with the Ligue 1 winners PSG in august 2021 for $104 million which lasts for 2 years hence there is some buzz on whether Messi will extend or reject his contract.
Meanwhile, fans have started to spread rumors that Messi might return to his former club following the news of Messi not intending to remain at PSG.
However Fabrizio Romano tweeted, "PSG reached a verbal agreement with Lionel Messi to extend the contract. The length of the contract & will be decided in a new meeting soon."
Although there is no official confirmation yet, Messi is likely to extend his contract with the French giants rather than joining Al-Hilal and Barcelona.
