Lionel Messi is termed the elite soccer player of the generation. The Argentine superstar has made several records one of which is that he is the player with most Ballon d'Ors.

Messi is also well respected by athletes from various other sports however Canelo Alvarez a well-known Mexican boxer crossed that barrier as he lashed out at Messi following a dressing room incident.

It all started when Messi led Argentina beat Mexico by 2:0 in the group stage of the world cup and after the match, in the dressing room, Messi was seen kicking Mexico's jersey.

And then in reaction, Alvarez tweeted," Did you see Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag??? He better pray to God that I don’t find him!!”

Canelo after getting schooled that Messi unintendedly did that, issued an apology and said that he got carried away.

Messi addressed the situation in a recent interview where he admitted that the match against Mexico was a hard grind.

Messi said, “The match with Mexico was the most difficult because of everything that was at stake and it was the one we played the worst because we had to win no matter what and that makes you play differently,” the 35-year-old said."
