Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the sport after his title defense against Justin Gaethje and now he is a businessman and a successful MMA coach.

Khabib Nurmagomedov coaches many fighters including the likes of Usman Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, and his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov.

In a new series on Khabib's YouTube channel, coach Javier Mendez talks about the evolution of Khabib from a fighter to a coach.

Javier Mendez recalled the first time Khabib Nurmagomedov became a corner coach and shared a hilarious story that only shows how humble and passionate Khabib is about the sport.

“We work the first corner together and we go in there and he’s like blah blah blah and I didn’t get a word. I didn’t get a word in. After the fight he goes coach how did I do. I go well you did okay except you didn’t let me talk. I didn’t get to say anything. He goes oh sorry.”- coach Mendez said

Coach Mendez also praised Khabib for the improvements he has shown from the day he first showed up at AKA to coaching fighters today in the same gym.

Well, a lot will be on the line when Khabib's longtime teammate, Islam Makhachev takes on Charles Oliveria in the main event of UFC 280.

The Eagle has made many claims about the fight and has predicted Islam will dominate Oliveira and win the vacant lightweight title. But, it won't be an easy task considering the run Oliveira is on right now.
