Jorge Masvidal revealed the possibility of him getting into the world of combat sports after his retirement on the condition of fighting the opponent of his choice, who is a former rival of his.

Jorge Masvidal bid his adieu to the world of UFC, and his then BMF title on April 8, 2023, leaving the position vacant. Now, Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier will compete for it at UFC 291.

Although the fighter mentioned the possibility of him ending his retirement for fighting his former rival, and ONE welterweight champion Ben Askeren in a boxing match but Ben is retired as well.

“I don’t plan on fighting anybody any time soon but maybe like in a boxing match, I’d come out and just smack Nate [Diaz] up later on in life or something like that,” Masvidal said in a TMZ interview.

Masvidal heard the news of Ben possibly putting a halt to his retirement if he gets to fight Jorge. When they last fought, Ben lost his 20-fight streak to Masvidal via knockout.

“I heard Ben Askren said he’d come out of retirement to fight me, Look, Ben, I’ll only give you the rematch in boxing, motherf***. People will tune in because I can’t knee him in the face, right?"

"Hey, Ben, kiss my a**, you coming out of retirement. I’ll send you right back into it, motherf**. This guy, bro. They shouldn’t have shown me that comment, you corny motherf**.” said Jorge.

The possibility of former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal ending his retirement to fight Ben Askeren in a bout seems like an exciting thing for the MMA community as well as the boxing community.
