John Cena Still Makes Millions From WWE After Leaving

John Cena is arguably one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time thanks to his successful stint in the Stamford-based promotion, WWE.

The 16-time WWE champion is currently one of the big-name stars in the world of Hollywood. His recent Suicide Squad movie and its spin-off series Peacemaker were all major hits.

An interesting thing about Cena that many people aren't aware of is that his name is owned by the WWE and Vince McMahon. The company even gets a profit for his outside work.

The WWE legend in an interview with Howard Stern addressed the situation and openly admitted that he doesn't have any issue with WWE owning his government name.

"Before this, I was a kid in a small Massachusetts town mowing lawns. I don’t mind kicking a percentage of my earnings to the person who gave me an opportunity” he said. (H/t: Koimoi.com)

Cena, despite being a part-timer in the WWE, still earns a huge amount of money. According to Forbes, WWE pays him 9.5 million per year. He was also on the cover of WWE's latest 2K game.

The veteran superstar had his last WWE match in the WWE when he teamed up with Kevin Owens and defeated Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn on the December 30th edition of Smackdown.

Cena is expected to be at WrestleMania 39 in April and he is rumored to face the current United States champion Austin Theory at the show of shows..
