WWE veteran John Cena made his much-anticipated return to the WWE ring on this week's Smackdown after he teamed up with Kevin Owens to face Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.

Cena's team was able to get the win after Owens pinned his former best friend Sami Zayn after hitting him with a Stunner.

The 16-time World Champion was also able to save his streak of competing in at least one WWE match every year since making his debut.

The future Hall of Famer after the show went off the air, addressed the live crowd and thanked them for supporting him for over twenty years.

"I just want to say thank you so much, for giving me the greatest gift you ever could, and that is allowing me to step into this ring for twenty straight years." Cena told the fans. (H/T: Sportskeeda)

As of now, it looks like Cena won't be hanging around much in the WWE but there are rumors of him being at WrestleMania next year and fans expect him to compete at the show.

Roman Reigns meanwhile was able to complete another year without getting pinned or submitted as Zayn was the one who took the fall in the match.

According to rumors, Roman Reigns is set to feud against Kevin Owens and the two are reportedly set to have a title match at the upcoming Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.
