Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has become the talk of the town after his heated exchange of ill-tempered phrases with Dricus du Plessis post-fight at UFC 290.

Izzy felt seriously offended when du Plessis claimed himself to be a true African, hence using racial slurs against him, fueling the rivalry even further. Adesnya opened up about the feud later.

Adesanya later took to his YouTube channel to talk about his actions. He confessed to 'manifesting' the results to be in favor of du Plessis and was giving him positive affirmations.

"He worked hard. Even at prep time, I was giving him energy like positive affirmations. But yeah, when it happened, I just lost my sh*t." Hence, Adesanya admitted not having any hard feelings.

"People say I turned heel. It's not heel, I can just feel myself switch and the beast comes out." As people called him cringe, he turned optimistic saying he elicited an emotional response from them.

Du Plessis claimed he was a true African fighter as he continued to stay in Africa and train there, unlike other African fighters who chose to move out of the continent.

Israel Adesanya is a Nigerian native who shifted to New Zealand. Du Plessis was also referring to other fighters like Kamaru Usman and Francis Ngannou who also hail from Africa but don't stay there.

Even Izzy commented on these fighters. "African MMA is rising now. You have guys like myself, Francis, Kamaru, Themba [Gorimbo], and Dricus... What we are doing right now will rise African MMA."
