Is Robert Whittaker Fighting at UFC 284 in Australia?

Robert Whittaker was initially scheduled to take on Paulo Costa at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia.

However, that won't be the case after Costa withdrew from his fight against Whittaker owing to contract negotiation disputes.

Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa, who have been paired opposite each other on multiple occasions in the past, failed to meet inside the Octagon once again.

All this means, Robert Whittaker won't compete at UFC 284 in his backyard. Earlier, there were reports of a quick replacement, however, it did not see the light of the day.

Much like his contemporary Israel Adesanya, Whittaker has almost cleared the entire UFC Middleweight division.

He is coming off an incredible win over Marvin Vettori, is on a winning streak, with both his last two losses coming against Israel Adesanya.

The last time Robert Whittaker competed in Australia was back at UFC 243 in Melbourne where he suffered a stoppage loss against Israel Adesanya.

Well, if the idea was redeeming his loss and be victorious on home soil, it's safe to say, that's going to take some time.
