Inside the Unique Workout Routine of Former UFC Champ Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira is one of the most eminent Brazilian mixed martial artists in the middleweight division in the UFC. With his precise striking abilities, Alex has attained glory in the world of MMA.

Behind Pereira's great skill and showcase of sheer will to win lies his rigid training, which involves a variety of exercises to gain agility, strength and flexibility.

Pereira's routine starts with a warm-up session of 20 minutes with exercises like stretching, etc. Alex generally puts 2 to 3 hours in his workouts without skipping them ever. 

With strength exercises involving upper body workouts like Battle ropes to improve upper body strength, Bench dips to focus on triceps and stamina, dumbbell shrugs and hand gripper exercises.

As fluent kickboxer he focuses on his lower body as well. Exercises like the Reverse fly and single-leg push-ups help in leg balance, kneeling rear leg raise, and pistol squats for leg strengthening.

With core workouts, Alex enhances his rotational and twisting powers which in turn improves grappling and stronger kicks and punches. Oblique crunches, isometric push-ups which enrich the core.

Also, different types of planks like Medicine ball planks help strengthen the overall core, Pereira does some Russian seated twists to condition his martial arts and stability.

Apart from conventional training at the gym, Alex has his own unique training sessions in the woods and hills, where he exercises with fellow UFC veteran Glover Teixeira.
